On Site Support
To complement our badge production service, an on site support function is also on offer to allow:
- Production of badges on site (for latecomers and where badges need reprinting for any reason). Dataflow Events has developed a system for quick retrieval of delegate data and instant re-printing of badges.
- Badge scanning.
ScanEngine: Dataflow Events’ barcode scanning system is quick, portable and flexible.
ScanEngine comprises of either one or two hardware units, according to your needs.
The barcode scanner is a wireless device which either stores a barcode reading for downloading later, or transmits it to the PDA if one is in range. Handheld and able to run without mains power, Scanners can be used remotely for:
- Event attendance – who attended the event and which breakout sessions they went to
- Real time event attendance data (where wireless network is installed)
- Sales lead capture - exhibitors scan the badges of visitors to their stand
- Sporting events - scan entrants at the start line of a long distance event and then again at the finish line to determine their time.
- Transport - scan everyone as they get on coaches, and relay the data to the destination so that preparations can be made for their arrival (eg catering, seating).
Scanners can relay information via multiple communication channels for robustness and peace of mind. Ultimately scans are relayed back to servers at Dataflow Events' offices, meaning that data is available for immediate reporting and follow-up correspondence, such as SMS or emailing feedback forms.
Used in conjunction with scanners, the PDA is an internet ready wireless handheld device which can receive data from the barcode scanner, store it, and compare it with data on the server or in its own memory. It has a screen which can be used to display data about delegates as they’re scanned. PDAs can be used to:
- Check eligibility to attend a breakout session
- Receive alerts when VIPs arrive
- Pass messages to individuals when they are scanned
- Ensure that each person claims their correct catering entitlement
- Ensure that Incentives / Promotions are only given to each person once
